The ‘Accuracy Panel’ is a competitions committee that governs the sport of accuracy flying within the BHPA and is responsible to the BHPA Competitions Officer. The Accuracy Panel has a constitution and operates in accordance with an operating document called the ‘White book’ that details issues such as the roles of panel members, voting rights and league rules. The panel currently has nine volunteer members working on behalf of the accuracy community and their roles are detailed below.
Liz Lawrence
Liz Lawrence is the Accuracy Panel Chairman and the main contact for the panel. Liz chairs Accuracy Panel meetings and has a close involvement with most issues.
Ben Haworth
The panel is very fortunate to have Ben Haworth as the Treasurer with his accounting back ground. Ben prepares the accounts and deals with all the financial matters.
Andy Webster
Andy Webster under takes the roles of Secretary, Skywings Officer, paragliding accuracy World Cup contact and classic accuracy nationals organiser. Andy is therefore busy on the paperwork front and the main contact with Skywings for the Dead Centre pages. If you have any articles, photos or information for the Dead Centre pages you should contact Andy Webster to help with the planning of the submissions.
Nikki Spence
Nikki Spence is the Rules and FAI Officer and is responsible for implementing and monitoring rules at both UK and international competitions.
Tas Spence
Tas Spence is the Youth Liaison Officer and is using her youthful charm to encourage young pilots into the sport of accuracy.
Chris Haynes
Chris Haynes under takes the roles of Equipment Officer, Calendar of Events Officer, Leagues Officer, paragliding accuracy nationals organiser and Squad Manager. Chris’s roles are self explanatory and hasten to say he is quite busy.
Arthur Bentley
Arthur Bentley is a member of the European Parascending Accuracy Committee (EPAC) and is the main contact with our Dutch and French colleagues. Arthur attends an annual meeting at the beginning of the year to discuss competition dates / venues and other organisational issues.
Don Bodill
As Trophies Officer, Don Bodill is responsible for organising the trophies for the classic and paragliding accuracy national championships, and also running the accuracy awards scheme. In addition Don has custody of the equipment trailer and we are very grateful that he is prepared to tow it to various events.
Tony Blacker
Tony Blacker is Development and Club Liaison Officer and is responsible for promoting accuracy flying within clubs.
Caroline Lonsdale
Caroline Lonsdale is not a member of the Accuracy Panel, but the Accuracy Panel is very grateful to have her setting up this website.
